Steward and stewardess

From the time when first passenger planes were created, the profession of steward/stewardess appeared.

People say that this profession is very romantic. In fact this profession is a sky diving profession full of mysteries, changes and news.

When first planes were created, the necessity in a person who must help the passengers during the flight was obvious. Passengers constantly distracted pilots, not knowing the interior of the plane; they were pushing wrong bottoms that caused problems. And a good idea appeared in the head of a businessman who decided to add this profession to the crew. Thanks to it, the order was kept in the plane, stewards and stewardesses met and said "goodbye" to passengers. All airlines liked the idea and introduced this profession on boards of their planes.

What do people need to become a stewardess? Usually women become stewardesses, but there are also male stewards. First the requirements to stewardesses were very strict. Slim and tall girls with knowledge of several languages could work as stewardesses. The height of a stewardess should be not less than 164 centimetres that will allow keeping the upper part of compartment in order. The maximum height is 175 centimetres. For men the maximum height is 185 centimetres.

Stewards and stewardesses should be beautiful and handsome, as stewardesses are the face of airlines that is why every employer tries to take the most beautiful girls and men. So, the resume without photo is not even considered. The preference is usually given to people with medical higher education and higher education in the sphere of foreign languages.

The health also plays an important role. Medical board is necessary for all stewards and stewardesses. They must have perfect eyesight and there should be no problems with vascular system and vestibular apparatus.

But imagine how it must be interesting to travel from countries to countries and see the earth from the sky. This profession is always thrilling and full of impressions.
