Test: Are you a good chief?
There are a lot of people who dream to become a chief but they don't consider the duties of the chief.
Here is a little test that is going to help you to find out whether you are a good chief or not:
1. Do you make a plan for the next week?
a) Yes, I can't live without it.
b) I do, if there are a lot of things to do for the next week.
c) Sometimes I try to.
d) No.
2. Do you consider the time necessary for doing certain work?
a) Of course
b) Yes, at least approximately
c) Sometimes I do that when there is little time and a lot of work to do.
d) No, I don't think it is necessary.
3. Do you turn to somebody for advice before making serious decision?
a) I turn to every worker for help because everybody may give good recommendations.
b) I make decisions by myself and then ask the opinion of the others not to offend them.
c) No, I know better what I need.
d) Yes, but only to my chiefs.
4. Were you thinking to do everything by yourself if it seemed to you that you are doing the work faster and better than other workers?
a) No. I understand that the best work is done together.
b) Sometimes I think about it, but I don't do anything not to offend anybody.
c) No, because it only seems to me.
d) Of course I think about it. But I'm not going to do anybody's work.
5. Do you insist on your point of view even if nobody agrees with it?
a) I insist until the proofs that I am wrong are given.
b) Yes, I do that not to loose my authority.
c) No. What's the use to argue with idiots?
d) No, the majority of people can't mistake.
6. What is your relation to critic?
a) I think over everything heard and if the critic is severe I try not to repeat my mistakes.
b) At first I get angry. But when I calm down, I consider everything said.
c) If the person whom I respect criticizes me I am not angry. Otherwise I simply don't pay attention to it.
d) I start to criticize the person who criticizes me.
The majority of answers "A" – You have all chances to become a chief. You control your work and working day, you don't make decisions being angry and you respect the opinion of other people always having your point of view. When you work with colleagues, you are not trying to do everything by yourself giving the chance for others to demonstrate their abilities. The only thing to which you should pay attention is too much compromise in your behaviour. Sometimes it is the result of intention not to spoil relations with other people.
The majority of answers "B" – Disadvantage that doesn't allow you to become chief is the lack of concentration. That is why a lot of things you start you don't carry out. The main recommendation is to work hard.
The majority of answers "C" – You are able to plan your work. Even if you make a plan, there is no guarantee that you'll follow it. You are self-confident but you are not sure your decision is right.
The majority of answers "D" – Your main faults are that you don't trust your intuition and you pay to much attention to the opinion of people who are your chiefs. Even if you understand your decision is right, you follow wrong recommendations of chiefs. But you are very independent in work in group.
