To follow vocation?

There are a lot of people who faced the problem whether to follow their vocation or to choose well-paid profession in spite of their desire to work in another less paid sphere. There are lucky people who don't worry about it and have made a choice which combines both money and vocation. But there are only a few people who were so lucky. The majority of people have to make a choice that is very difficult as on one hand you are going to earn good money and on another hand you will have to forget about hobbies and you'll have to do boring things every day.

So what to do?

If you dream to become philologist and your parents want you to enter the department of foreign affairs, if you also realise that there are no prospects in future with such profession, what to do then? They say if one follows his/her vocation, he/she will certainly succeed. But is it really so? After all not everybody is able to gain success and to earn enough money.

It is important to find both moral and financial satisfaction. By the way, it is necessary to consider that in future you'll search for job in the sphere you chose.

There are three ways out. According to the first one you must follow your vocation and be happy. But will you be happy? After all, we all need money to live. And if you constantly feel the lack of it, you won't be happy and even your favourite work won't bring you pleasure.

The second way is to choose well-paid occupation thanks to which you may become rich. But imagine that every day you'll have to go to the office and do monotone work which you hate. And life will turn into tortures for you.

And the third was is compromise. There are a lot of professions that allow to earn good money and to work in the sphere you like. For example if you want to become an artist, choose the profession of designer. Thanks to it, you'll receive the chance to be creative and to earn a lot of money.

If you haven't decided what to choose yet, don't follow blindly advices of your parents or friends. Try to make the final decision by yourself. Usually parents offer very prestigious well-paid professions, but sometimes they want to make their dreams come true with your help. There are cases when for example a person wanted to become an actor, but he/she didn't, so he/she wants his/her child to get this profession.

The most important thing is to do your work with pleasure. If you are interested in something don't ignore it and don't give up after first troubles. The modern world gives so many options, and if you can't choose the profession that already exists in the modern world, you may invent one that would correspond to all your interests and knowledge.
